The owner shared with us his thoughts on this impressive boat, "It's not just your typical downeast style boat. As you walk toward this boat, you'll realize that it has a yacht-like finish, awlgrip on all exposed surfaces inside and out, aluminum frame tinted windows, Rupp outriggers, abundant stainless steel half-round molding throughout, welded aluminum awning and antennae arch done to machinist-like quality. Certain boats just sit in the water with correctness of lines and balance, and at a glance you know this is the one.
Sounds good, but the facts are that this is one of the most stable, seaworthy, and functional fishing platforms around. Well powered with an 800HP CAT that can supply the power when needed or the economy of operation. Burning about a gallon per MPH up to 24knts where it will start to climb to a max of 1.32 gal/mile at 30knts. Makes the cost of operation far less painful at the pump as compared to most sportfishing boats. The hull and beam provide a smooth entry and sea calming ride. This is the boat that will get you home without the beating experience in many larger boats when that beautiful day at sea becomes less than beautiful.
The electronics speak for themselves and provide redundancy throughout. An uncluttered cockpit with more than ample space for the largest charters or groups. No more telling fishermen not on a fish to go back in the wheelhouse or stay out of the way until until the fish is landed. Because they all want to see, that's why they are there. Below deck fish hold, huge live well, commercial size wash down pump, 14 rod holders (7 swivel) add to the functionality of this cockpit. Don't struggle dragging that fish into the boat; a brute of a stainless steel gin pole is set up in tandem with a hydralic driven pot hauler that allows that tail roped or fly gaffed prize to be lifted high and swung into the cockpit without beating up yourself or the fish. An impressive array of deck lights make night fishing operations a pleasure.
Another important characteristic that will be greatly appreciated is that all mechanical service and repairs can be accomplished without squeezing your body into places that it was just not designed to go. Equipped with auto oil change engine and transmission. Multiple below deck work/flood lights. Hydraulic hoses are sleeved against chaffing thoughout the boat. Main electrical panels are hinged for easy access. A lot of thought and experience was put into this boat.
A major engine service and maintenance was performed by Gregory Poole Catepillar (Beaufort, NC) at 5,940 engine hours. The transmission was serviced by ZF tech at the same time.
